Pysch 147: Early Childhood Development
In the spring of 2010, I took a course, "Early Childhood Development" that allowed me to work as a Two's teacher at Bing Nursery School while simultaneously completing the course in the evenings. During my quarter, I spent two mornings a week assisting in the classroom. This was a particularly unique experience as it allowed me to practice and apply our discussions from class to my teaching each week. I wrote weekly observations focusing on different children, types of learning styles, and areas of play, as well as a variety of other topics. I also completed a final project in which I introduced the children to a song and game that I had created specifically for them based on two key learning styles that I had observed to be the most important for this age group; interaction and repetitition. Pictures from my final project are below as well as the lyrics to the song.

One Spring Morning in the Two's
I looked out the window and what did I see?
I saw a GREEN FROG JUMPING PAST ME
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise
RIBIT RIBIT RIBIT goes the frog outside
I looked out the window and what did I see?
I saw a BLUE BIRD FLYING PAST ME
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise
CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP goes the bird outside
I looked out the window and what did I see?
I saw a BROWN BUNNY HOPPING PAST ME
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise
SNIFFLE SNIFFLE SNIFFLE goes the bunny outside
I looked out the window and what did I see?
I saw a YELLOW DUCK SWIMMING PAST ME
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise
QUACK QUACK QUACK goes the duck outside
I looked out the window and what did I see?
I saw a SPOTTED DOG RUNNING PAST ME
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise
WOOF WOOF WOOF goes the dog outside
I looked out window and what did I see?
I saw a STRIPED CAT CRAWLING PAST ME
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise
MEOW MEOW goes the cat outside
